Use Better Kitchen Utensils to cook with.

In the thirty plus years that I been cooking professionally, I?ve come across some good quality kitchen tools, some ok kitchen tools, and some that I think ?What the heck were these guys thinking when they designed this??

I started out my career always wanting the best tools as I could afford. At the time I was just a cook my budget wasn?t very large. As an aspiring Chef I knew that I needed knives as a starting point for my kitchen tools. But what kind Stainless or carbon, forged or stamped, all good questions and I was a bit clueless. I asked my Culinary instructor what he liked and as he was a old school Swiss chef trained in European tradition, he suggested that I look into Henkel knifes.

J.A .Henkel is a German knife company that has been producing knives for 275 years, established in 1731. They are excellent knives. Peter Henkel started the company in 1731 and registered the Twin symbol as a trademark in the town of Solingen.

I bought my first knife set, a beautiful white handle set of eight knifes. I went to work at a Hotel one morning, and stared working as usual. Being busy,I left my knives out in my station while I went to deliver some salads to one of the restaurants. When I came back a thief had stolen them. What a life lesson!

I had to have knives, so I went looking for new knives the next day. This time determined to find economical yet quality kitchen cutlery, I went to a knife shop and asked what the owner recommended. This time I did not have a lot of money so the owner of the stores ask me what my budget was and I said I needed A 10? chef knife, a boning knife, a paring knife and a Steel to keep them sharp. He told me about F Dick knifes another German maker of knives that had manufacturing plants in Brazil and he showed me a couple of them. F Dick Knives are also of exceptional quality but a bit more economical from this store as the owner had a large stock of them. I bought a few different brands that day and have had them ever since.I take extra care that I always return my knives to a secure place when I have to leave them.

Now there are many great choices for kitchen cutlery, Japanese, Brazilian and French knives can be good choices. I suggest you look around and find the knives that fit you hands best and ones that are comfortable. I am again evaluating knives and I really like Saber knives, they are American made and of good quality.
